MORE FROM NICK JACKSON

Born and raised in Alberta, I attended Athabasca University and obtained a Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology Degree.  I went on to become a Registered Psychologist in Alberta, where I have been counselling individuals and couples, with a range of mental health challenges.  I love working with people, sincerely enjoy my job, and feel honored that my clients entrust me with their stories and struggles.

Throughout my professional career, I have been drawn to counselling as I have consistently found that my favorite part of every job has been talking with people and working with them to achieve life goals.  This passion for working with people made the long road through school and registration as a Psychologist (requiring 1600 hours of supervised practice and a comprehensive exam), feel absolutely worth it. As I have had the privilege of working with many clients over the years, it has become even more clear to me that we all have things we are working on, and as we have the courage to share our burdens with others, we have the capacity to become so much more than we thought we ever could.  Some of my most wonderful professional experiences, are participating in and witnessing these exciting changes in the clients that I work with.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing basketball.

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.

"It takes a lot of courage to reach out. It can feel intimidating and plain scary, but as you make this first step by sending an email or making a call, you're literally moving one step closer to where you want to go and who you want to be. And I will do everything I can to make the appointment as un-intimidating and comfortable as possible." - Nick
